On the eggs: Ova Easy page says 4.5 oz. and "equivalent to 12 eggs" for $9.99. Sonstegard says 6 oz and "Equivalent to 6 large eggs" for 5.99. Your notes above say Sonstegard is "less expensive." Lower cost for the package, yes, but it's hard to compare, with the weights/egg equivalents given. Can you clarify?

You couldn't have known it, but millions of Americans have been snowed in this winter in the 5-6 weeks since you posted this. Fortunately, in my area, there's been an unusual amount of snow, but not extreme cold, and we haven't had electrical blackouts as in other years. But other areas of the country have not been so lucky, It's good to keep freeze dried foods of all kinds on hand, just in case. Hope this hit the spot for people who've been outside, shoveling snow as I was last week.

I love the charts!! Now I can spend hours of cold nights obsessing over which foods I will be taking based on the nutritional value and the greatest amount of calories, fat, carbohydrates or protein. Thanks for this info. I am always amazed at how long they last in the fridge. I haven't used Mission in quite some time since they contain trans fats in them. I cannot seem to find the ingredients on the Tia Rosa.

The skillet bread in the photos is an older GSI pan that came with the Bugaboo Cookset, but the skillet bread will work in just about any pan. Just remember that a samller pan will produce a thicker bread that will take a bit longer to cook while a larger pan will make a larger, thinner bread.

I do a similar way - let the bags brew while I hike :-) Then I can chill it in a stream for awhile, on break, or in camp.
